The Witch in the Valley Podcast - How to easily make and use a pendulumIn this episode, I’ll tell you how you can easily create your own pendulum and use it. You’ll also hear about one of my Tarot readings. I’ll talk about the uses for Borage, and I’m going to give you a prompt, something you can do easily and in a short amount of time, to get some magic into your day.

How to easily make and use a pendulum

Making it

All you really need is a string and a weight that’s centered. It could be a marble, a ring or a kitchen door handle or a spindle. Attach the string or chain to the center of the weight, and you’re ready to go. If you’d like to make it from scratch, I have a link to a how-to in the show notes. The most important thing is that the string is properly attached so that the pendulum won’t move in a certain direction because of the construction.

Using it

A pendulum is a good tool for use in divination and for getting general advice and answers. It can also be used for channeling. As any other tool used for divination, the pendulum acts as an extension of your subconscious mind. So you’re actually moving it, just not consciously.

It isn’t that difficult to learn how to use a pendulum. Hold the string between your thumb and your index finger and make sure to support the elbow, for example on a table. Let the pendulum hang freely below the hand. Stabilize it, so that it stops swinging. Make sure that it stays still.

Now you can start to tune into it, by testing it a bit. Visualize that it will give you a ‘yes’, a ‘no’ and a ‘don’t know/maybe’. Make sure to start by asking questions you already know the answer to, to figure out how to recognize the answers for what they are. You’ll need to do this every time you use your pendulum because the signals may differ. It reacts differently to different people at different times depending on your energy and a bunch of other variables

It usually swings in a circle, in a straight line or in an ellipse, When it isn’t showing a clear yes or no, it might mean that you don’t know or the question isn’t ready to be answered. You’ll soon figure out how it works for you.

To see the movement more easily, you can hold the pendulum over a paper that you’ve drawn a circle on. You can also draw a cross over the circle. Let the center of the cross be in the center of the circle.

When you feel that the connection between you and your pendulum works, you can start asking your questions. Remember never to ask questions that you don’t want to be answered! The pendulum may very well be wrong, but still. Ask straightforward and simple questions that the pendulum can answer ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to.

It’s preferable to ask the same question several times when it’s about important things, to get a more accurate answer. But you shouldn’t ask the same question more than once a day, and you shouldn’t put too much weight on the answer. Don’t let it decide important things for you.

It’s also possible to dowse over maps to get tips on good travel destinations, places to move to, or if you wonder where a special person is. Dowse over different parts of the map and multiple maps to get guidance. Minimize the area for the intended destination, place of residence or location of a person by folding the map or covering the rest with blank sheets of paper.

Questions to ask when dowsing over a map could be:

Would I like to live within this area?
Is Sue within this area now?
Should I travel to this area?

The map should be as detailed as possible. For example, if you know that the person you seek is in a specific city, but not where, you use a city map.

It’s also possible to dowse over a photo or a drawing, for example if you’re unsure if you should buy a specific house or not or if a dress will look good on you. The pendulum should then give a positive answer if it’s a good idea; that you’ll fell safe and calm there.

Another possibility would be to dowse over a drawing of your house if you’ve misplaced something. Then you could slowly exclude the areas where there’s no point in looking for it. The pendulum might actually lead you directly to the object you’re looking for. I have several friends that have successfully used this method.

Another thing you can do is dowse over food, asking is this good for my body. We’ve all heard tons of advice on what to eat and what not to eat. But in the end we’re all different, and what’s good for one person may be bad for another.

Good luck in using your pendulum. If you post pictures or stories, I’d love to see them, so tag me in the comments or description if you do.

Why are they dragging their feet?

A female entrepreneur reached out to me for a fast clarity reading with the question; “My biggest clients seem to be dragging their feet, and I’d love to know why”. The answer I gave her was:

One of them seems to be involved in a very emotional situation, something that is still being worked out. There may be some legal documents that have gone missing. One of them might be traveling. So that may be the reason for the delay.

You will find solutions and things will change for the better with less stress and strain. Take the time to get your head above water and find out where you’re going. A short break or change of environment can help. Do what’s necessary to regain balance. Remember to treat yourself with love, compassion and respect. You may be encountering someone you haven’t seen in a long time, or go back to doing something you were doing before.

If you have some similar problems, I’d love to help you. Just reach out to me for a cup of tea, and we’ll talk about how I can help.

Herb of the week: Borage

Today’s prompt is to slow down and take good care of your mind and body this week. Do some journaling or meditation and write down any insight this brings. The Moon is a Waining Crescent so the Dark Moon is coming. Make the most of this period of rest.

Cackle Boom Radio is back. We’ve revamped the website, so head on over and take a look. You can even host your own show there. We’re also looking for guests.

That’s it for me for today. Thanks for listening to the Witch in the Valley Podcast. The next episode will, among other things, be about herbs you can use during the cold and flu season.
