Collected recipes for different kinds of waters

Rose Water I

Rose petals are picked early in the morning. Put them in a pot and cover them with water. Bring to boil slowly and let it simmer for 4 minutes, strain.

Rose Water II

2-3 quarts fresh roses or rose petals
Water
Ice cubes or crushed ice
Brick
Large pot
Heat-proof bowl

In the center of a large pot with an inverted lid (a rounded lid), place a fireplace brick. On top of the brick place the bowl. Put the roses in the pot; add enough flowers to reach the top of the brick. Pour in just enough water to cover the roses. The water should be just above the top of the brick.

Place the lid upside down on the pot. Turn on the stove and bring the water to a rolling boil, then lower heat to a slow steady simmer. As soon as the water begins to boil, toss two or three trays of ice cubes (or a bag of ice) on top of the lid.

(This is a basic stilling process -As the water boils the steam rises, hits the top of the cold lid, and condenses. As it condenses it flows to the center of the lid and drops into the bowl.) Every twenty minutes, quickly lift the lid and take out a tablespoon or two of the rose water. It's time to stop when you have between a pint and a quart of water that smells and tastes strongly like roses. The longer you still the roses (or any other herb/plant) the more diluted the essence will become.

Full Moon Water

Every full moon you take a jar or bottle of water outside and set it where the light of the full moon will shine on it. Leave it there as long as the moon is out. Ask the Goddess to bless the water with her light and love. Now take the jar and close it tightly. Keep it to use in all rituals and spells that require water. When the next full moon comes, pour the remaining water in the grass or a garden (don't pour it down the drain!!!!) and repeat the process.

Aromatic Water

Is used as a face-lotion, conditioner or for the body.

12 drops of Jasmine oil
5 drops of Bergamot oil
3 drops of Lavender oil
6 dl (~1.27 pints) of boiled, cold water

Mix well and keep in a glass bottle. Another method is to mix 3 drops of your favorite aroma oil with 5 tbsp of cold water.

Mint Water

An alternative to rosewater.

5 tbsp of dried mint
5 dl (~1.06 pints) of clean water

Crush the mint and stir it into the water in a jar with an airtight lid. Keep the jar easily accessible in a cool place. Shake the jar 2 - 3 times a day for 2 weeks. Strain and keep in the fridge.
