The Art Witch Blog

I’m a mythical artist, photographer, designer, intuitive and all-around creative based in the Norwegian mountains and this is my blog.

This is where I share my creative expression and do my best to inspire, empower, share tips and information, and give the occasional kick in the butt so you can have a more fulfilling life. You’ll also find a lot of art, some behind the scenes and works in progress, as well as some strong opinions, and a swear word or two. If you enjoy the posts, please share them.

2 Tips for When You’re Too Tired for Creativity

That's me today, well almost since I wrote this 🙂 I do have two very good reasons to be tired: I 'parked' my car in a snow-filled ditch on Thursday and had to walk 1 km very fast down and uphill to pick my daughter up at school. I've spent all day cleaning because my...

How to Make Knitting Fun (and a Bit Challenging)

How to Make Knitting Fun (and a Bit Challenging)

To me, knitting 'normal' mitten patterns is really boring. I don't knit mittens often but when I do, I have fun with it 🙂 This is what I do to make knitting mittens for my daughter more fun, and also a bit more of a challenge. Don't know if you feel the same way...

I Want to See What This Old Camera Can Do

I Want to See What This Old Camera Can Do

This is my analogue old camera, a Konica TC-X. I bought it in 1990 when I lived in southern Sweden for a few months and the Nissun flash and Hexanon 35-125 mm lens were included. It hasn't been in use for many years (something like 20) but it still works. The flash...

How to Create When You Don’t Have the Right Tools

I've seen way too many people not do what they want because they don't have the 'right' tools and materials. They don't know how to create the thing without those tools and materials. So I thought I'd bring this up in case you let that stop you. There is no reason to...

Art as a form of self-expression or more as a message received?

Art as a form of self-expression or more as a message received?

By Deborah Flanagan. Interior Designer, Artist and Mum. Art to me is something that connects with something bigger than the ego… It’s coming from a more authentic source, from the essence of who you really are. Or perhaps you are actually the medium for which you...
