The Art Witch Blog
I’m a mythical artist, photographer, designer, intuitive and all-around creative based in the Norwegian mountains and this is my blog.
This is where I share my creative expression and do my best to inspire, empower, share tips and information, and give the occasional kick in the butt so you can have a more fulfilling life. You’ll also find a lot of art, some behind the scenes and works in progress, as well as some strong opinions, and a swear word or two. If you enjoy the posts, please share them.

The symbols are finding their way out
The symbols are showing up both here and there, but not on their own of course 🙂 I'm adding them to the art shop I have on this site, and to RedBubble. So far, I've added the first 70 to RedBubble and 68 to the art shop (since one has gone to a new home and one has...
Saying goodbye to the old Apple tree and growing another
This weekend, we said goodbye to our second old apple tree (the first was cut in 2006). It hasn't born much fruit in several years, only a few on the newest branches. It only had branches on one side, so it was threatening to tip over, and it wasn't healthy. So it had...
This Eagle is Strutting his Stuff
This Eagle is strutting his stuff, showing off for you. I finished him last night, and he's now available in the shop. I hope you like him. I'm exhausted after the workshop I hosted earlier today, so I'll be making it an early night tonight. Remember to let me know...
Make something to remind you of your goals
I bet you have some goals and desires for this year. They might be for your business, or they may be about lifestyle and other more personal things. I've decided to create a workshop that merges art and magic in a way that will help you reach those goals. Would that...
And then there were three…strange birds that is
Since I'm up to my neck in workshop preparations, I've chosen to show you the three birds today instead of writing a lot. If you love these Strange Birds, they'll be up in the shop shortly. Strange Bird 1: Young Magpie in Purple Strange Bird 2: Blue Sparrow with...
Place your creative work in a box
One of the things that make it easier for me to be creatively productive is that I have an innate ability to create parameters, to create a box for my work, without even thinking about it. That's according to Rachel Z. Cornell. Rachel who's a dear friend, is an expert...
The first in a series of strange birds
This Young Magpie in Purple is the first in a series of Strange Birds. They're regular birds painted in loose watercolour and fine-liner, where I've changed the colour and added some patterns. I've been drawing birds for a long time, and I wanted to do something fun...
Going to a professional (hairdresser) can feel amazing
To continue on the visit at the hairdresser's for a while, I'd like to touch on another subject connected to it. Choosing to go to a professional for your self-care can feel amazing, whether it's a hairdresser, a massage therapist, or a nail salon. I've been doing my...
Picking the best book title isn’t easy! I need your input
I've been trying to decide on the best book title for my symbols book for a couple of weeks now, and I could use your input. Which of these do you like best? 100 Sacred Symbols - An artist experimenting with watercolour to explore historyPath of Symbols - An artist...
Time to close the book on the symbols
I'm just playing with words here, I'm not giving up the symbols. 🙂 But since they're all finished, it's time to package them all up in a book, plus an oracle deck. I've created a collage of all the symbols, and a respected friend said they'd make a great poster....
Think local when you invest in your well-being
When you invest in your own well-being, the importance of which I've talked about before, try to support local businesses. I know it's not always possible, but when you can, it's a good idea to do so. It's a way to support the local community, and you might make a...
Prepare for it, technology will fail
With all the conveniences of modern day life; smartphones, the Internet, social media, email, easy ways to communicate across borders. Any person can start a business, which is awesome. That's what's given me and many other people the opportunity to run a business and...
