To continue on the visit at the hairdresser‘s for a while, I’d like to touch on another subject connected to it. Choosing to go to a professional for your self-care can feel amazing, whether it’s a hairdresser, a massage therapist, or a nail salon. I’ve been doing my own colour for a long time, but I decided to invest in myself and have a professional do it from now on.

When I went to the hairdresser to get it done I had an amazing time. Not only because I was being pampered, but also because I got a better service than I expected. In addition to the cut and colour, I got a hair treatment, a scalp massage, a good conversation, and a cup of tea with some chocolates on the side. I enjoyed myself and fully immersed myself in the moment.

Investing in yourself this way isn’t only good for you at that moment, though indulging in a bit of pampering and relaxation, but also in the long run.

You’re saying yes to yourself
You’re taking care of yourself
You’re showing some self-love

Another thing…

Something else I thought of when writing this is that so many of us don’t say yes when we’re offered something. Like that cup of tea with the chocolates. We say:

“No thanks, I wouldn’t want to bother you”.

That’s something that should change. Don’t think of it as bothering someone. They offered, you didn’t ask. Accept the offer, say yes please and thank you. It won’t be a bother to them, and you’re doing yourself a service by saying yes to something you want. You’re accepting some abundance into your life.

How are you at accepting what people offer you, and saying yes to yourself? Tweet this!

If you need a kick in the pants, some accountability, or just want to chat about honouring and taking care of yourself. Book a cup of tea and we’ll sit down together.

PS. I also did another thing to say yes to myself last week. I went to a friend’s house overnight for some mommy vacation, a girl’s night, and we also did a photo session. If you want to see the pictures, they’re on two of my facebook pages (here and here). We had some problems with the camera refusing to focus for many of the pictures, and light for some of the others. That’s why there aren’t that many.
