The Art Witch Blog

I’m a mythical artist, photographer, designer, intuitive and all-around creative based in the Norwegian mountains and this is my blog.

This is where I share my creative expression and do my best to inspire, empower, share tips and information, and give the occasional kick in the butt so you can have a more fulfilling life. You’ll also find a lot of art, some behind the scenes and works in progress, as well as some strong opinions, and a swear word or two. If you enjoy the posts, please share them.

Osteoarthritis: Going in for Shoulder Surgery

Osteoarthritis: Going in for Shoulder Surgery

If you don't hear much from me the next few days, it's because I'm going in for shoulder surgery on my left shoulder tomorrow. The surgery is to stabilize the shoulder joint, which has always been unstable and has become painful as a result of my hypermobility. It's...

8 secrets to make a bad pain day better

If you're living with chronic pain, or you know someone who does, I hope this post will help you. These are the methods I use to try and make a bad pain day better. Drink a cup of Green, White or Herbal Tea. There are herbs that can help you with pain, but I won't...

Quotes

Quotes

Here are some quotes I find fun and interesting. Not the most imaginative solution to having to come up with a subject starting with Q, but I'll do better next week. I promise 🙂 “Goddesses do NOT cook and clean – being a goddess is a full-time job” ~ Helga Hlaðgerður...

The June Prizes

The June Prizes

I'm overwhelmed with the gratitude I've received for the prizes I sent to the winners of the June competition. So I thought I'd show you what I sent them.

Pagan Pro’s

Pagan Pro’s

I'm not talking about the pros of being Pagan, although there are many. I'm talking about Pagan Professionals. During my many years as a witch, I've come across a lot of Pagan Professionals. Professional bloggers, shop owners, witches, fortune tellers, and Pagans with...

Pagans on Pinterest

Pagans on Pinterest

Have you discovered Pinterest yet? I have, and I know several Pagans (and Heathens, if you prefer to separate them) who have. If you haven't, but would like to check it out, a word of caution; It's highly addictive, and even more of a potential time waster than...

Why use blister packaging on arthritis medication?

Why use blister packaging on arthritis medication?

Why on Earth do medical companies insist on using blister packaging for the larger packages of arthritis medication? I can understand it for the smaller, but packaging 100 pills in blister packs with ten slots on each board is just stupid. At least when it comes to...

Grasshopper

Grasshopper

This one is a grasshopper in acrylics on recycled cardboard. I made it for a series on insects in 2012. It’s a bit smaller than I originally made it because my dog Bonzo decided to chew on a corner of it when he was a puppy. Size: 28 x 25 cm

Oil Beetle on a Leaf

Oil Beetle on a Leaf

This is an acrylic painting of an oil beetle on a leaf on recycled cardboard. I did it as part of a series of insects back in 2012. Size: 30 x 24 cm

Originality

Originality

I'm a big fan of originality; there are too many copycats out there. I follow my own path, regardless of what other Pagans or Heathens say I should be doing. I started this path without knowing of any others like me, so I wasn't influenced by for example Wicca. I've...

Rök Runes – 15 – Laugr is still the same

Rök Runes – 15 – Laugr is still the same

Laugr is another one of those runes that still look the same as in the Elder Futhark. So I'm letting it keep its interpretation, for the most part. The only things I've changed are some personal experiences. Laugr stands for water, flow, and emotion. It can also...
