Today’s rune from the Elder Futhark is Eoh or Eihwaz (sound value: ë).

Eoh represents trees and plants and is associated with hunting. It’s also a strong rune for protection and defence. Remember that you can be strong and flexible at the same time. You don’t always have to have it your way. Confront your fears and stand your ground, but learn to bend when you have to.

Some other keywords are Flexibility, strength, reliability, defence, protection, deflection, prevention, perseverance.

Eoh is associated with Yggdrasill, the world tree, which most describe as a great Ashe. But it also represents the Yew tree. The Yew tree was a lot more common during the time of the Vikings than now, and some claim that Yggdrasil wasn’t an Ashe but a Yew tree, which is evergreen. This is because Yggdrasil has been described as evergreen.

Merkstave: Eoh cannot be reversed. In opposition, it might say that you think you need to defend yourself, but there’s really no need to. You’re being too defensive.
