A female entrepreneur came to me with this question: What’s the most authentic way to brand myself doing writing/editing/website/branding work that helps inspire confidence in my work (from myself and others) as I move forward this month.

You’ve been embarking on a journey of personal development and you’ve either had or will have a sudden understanding of yourself, your business, others, of the world. You may have been struggling to put plans into action and you’re a bit worried that you’re in over your head. If you break your plans into smaller tasks they become more manageable and easier to think about.

Something ends suddenly and something new begins. In this you may feel powerless in what’s happening, but you’re on your way up. Make sure you don’t put yourself last when you’re working on your business. Take some time to relax, otherwise it will get painful. The Ten of Swords is also about letting go and accepting your current circumstances.

You may feel like you’re being swept away and you have no control over it, that it’s just happening to you. More changes are going to take place to enable a new direction to emerge.

Release what no longer serves you. Drop some of the things you hang on to, things that are too much, that are too hard, or that don’t serve you. You may run into some obstacles, but don’t let them get you down. Something new and better is on the way.  You may need to let go of some unhealthy attachments and old routines to pave the way to a more fulfillled life. To let go of outworn and outgrown ways of life and move forward. It’s time to cut out what is not necessary in your life. This may be a good time to purge old ‘baggage’ that is getting in your way.

You doubt yourself for no reason. You have a lot of skills, talents and abilities that are not being fully utilized right now. You have what you need to create what you want. You just have to know what you want and focus on that. Look at where you’re focusing your energy. Make sure you’re clear about your intentions and goals. Look at where your major skills are. Show them and use them as best you can.

Keep going forward. Be happy with what you have, but don’t stop there. Learn to be open and take calculated risks. You’re starting to see the good stuff come to you. I don’t have a timeline for this, but it’s coming. Your present wisdom comes from the events of the past.

You may be reluctant to open yourself and expose who you are on the inside. This may lead to a diskonnect in your branding. Close your eyes and listen to your inner voice for guidance.

A partnership of some kind may be beneficial, maybe as joint venture opportunities, interviews, or outsourcing what you don’t want to do. It’s also about being between two chairs. Maybe you have two things you want to do, and they say you have to choose one. Bu in business you can combine the things you love. Be careful of taking on too much information, it may overload you and make you confused.

Your branding needs to be based on what you want to help people with, what you love to do, and the skills you have to do that. Simplify it, and don’t try to cram too much into one service. Narrow it down, keep it simple and don’t overwhelm yourself. Let go of the things that don’t serve you, that don’t feel right.

Great advice Linda. Some good tips that anyone can use when overwhelm strikes. Keeping it simple is so often the key xx

Love this sentiment: “Your branding needs to be based on what you want to help people with, what you love to do, and the skills you have to do that.” If you brand what you love to do, everything else will fall into place.

Thanks Kim 🙂 It’s something that I’ve arrived at after a lot of searching. I’ve started seeing business coaches catch onto it now. When I do these business readings, I sometimes throw in some unsolicited business advice on top, if it seems needed.
