These fish are swimming around in their pond, not worrying about what goes on around them. The background was made by playing around with leftover paint from when I was finishing the Alfheim painting. I then talked about what to put on it on facebook, and one of the ladies came up with the Koi fish.

I added the outline for the fish and bubbles while doing a Facebook Live broadcast but couldn’t finish painting them until I made more gesso. I was completely out, and I wanted one of the fish to be primarily white. The one in the darker area of the painting.

Creating art this way is fun. Splashing paint on paper without any plans and then making something out of the shapes that appear.

Have you tried something like this?
