Every time I sat down to write my Friday blog post yesterday, I got interrupted by someone or something. I bet you’ve had days like that (if not weeks or months). It’s time to do something about it!

What I intended to tell you about last night, was my new freebie “7 easy things you can do to bring your creativity back from the dead…forever”. But that didn’t happen. Instead, I ended up doing anything but writing. In the end, I was so fed up and worn out, I sat down to read a book instead. I had to get to bed early anyway since Lilith and I were driving to Sweden today. Not that it helped, she woke me up an hour early this morning. Well, enough about that, now I’m interrupting myself 🙂

If you’re in a cycle of constant interruptions, and you know you need to create something, to get creative or you’ll blow a gasket. Start setting some boundaries. Set aside some time when nobody is allowed to interrupt unless it’s a matter of life or death. Only you know when you need this time during the day, make sure to plan it for when you need it the most. I know this is hard, so try to do it gradually. Start with 5-10  minutes, then increase it as you go. That makes it easier for family and friends to accept as well. You won’t get rid of all the ‘interruption days’, but you’ll get some time to yourself, to slow down, relax and create in peace. If it feels impossible to get your family to respect your me-time, get them out of the house. Make your husband, or someone else, go out and do something fun with the kids (or pets) for a couple of hours.

So how has your day been? Did you get any time to yourself?

Some days, I believe it’s just not meant to happen. However, if that becomes a regular occurrence, then something is wrong!
I hope you’ll get some rest and enjoy your time in Sweden 🙂

Yes 🙂 It’s been a regular occurrence here. No rest for the wicked 😀 We just drove there and back. I’m home now.
