I really want you to get going with your creative projects, to stop sacrificing it for other things. That’s why I’m creating these creative tips for you, and that’s also why I created the creativity challenge.

The tip I have for you today is: Use all of your senses

When you go somewhere (work, garden, forest, park etc.), make sure to use all of your senses. Stop, then look, listen, smell, touch, taste, get a feel for the place, check in with your intuition.

I know you can’t taste, smell, or touch everything. There are things that are disgusting, and then there are things that are downright dangerous to interact with. But those things you can use your other senses for.creative-tip-12

Do this as often as you can, and when you get home take some time to reflect on these experiences. Make a note in a journal, or in your mind. So you have some kind of record of it, and don’t forget about it.

Now sign up for the creativity challenge

We create something every day for a whole month, having a blast doing it, and we have our own group to share it in. But there’s no pressure to keep up. You’ll find a sign-up form for the challenge in the sidebar to the right on your screen.

Then leave me a comment below with your experiences.

I soooo agree, and appreciate the power of engaging The Senses *and* pausing to sit with the experience and, of course, journal!

Thanks Rose 🙂 It’s something a lot of people seem to forget these days. Everybody is so busy doing things that don’t really matter instead of feeding their spirit.

What a great reminder Linda to use our senses. I wonder how many people do it regularly? From this I am going to play with imaging tasting the air in different places-feeling with my tongue and see what happens. Thanks for the idea.

I don’t think too many do it regularly. Glad to hear you’re going to play with it 🙂

I love the idea of writing it down to keep it present, I think I will start taking a journal in the car with me. Thanks for sharing! xoxo

Thanks Jesse 🙂 I’m trying to do more video while the light is good. The winter is impossible when it comes to shooting video. Both light wise and energy wise.
