Disability and creativity DO go together, in fact, creativity can be a huge help.

If you’ve been hanging around for a while, you know I’ve been living with chronic pain for about 20 years. I don’t let that stop me from being creative. In fact, it helps me deal with being disabled. Like today for example. I had to tell my husband to bring the crutches down from the attic because my left hip and knee were hurting so bad I couldn’t walk properly.

We went on a picnic yesterday and played some soccer with Bonzo and Lilith, and I must have strained my leg some way. Maybe soccer and osteoarthritis isn’t such a great combination. Nevertheless, I got more done today than I have in days with less pain.

I finished outlining the emails for my new freebie, I worked on a painting, painted my daughter’s face (not with acrylics of course), and a couple of other things. It really helped me get through the day since the painkillers didn’t solve it. It’s almost bedtime now, and I’m feeling a lot better. I hope it’s gone for now. I hope this inspires you to be creative, no matter what. It makes a big difference. If you’re dealing with something similar or have anything you’d like to add, just leave me a comment below.

I am disabled as well and I pour my heart and soul into my creative side and this helps me so very much to make it through the hard times. And helps to ease the pain — even if only one moment at a time. *hugs*

I love how you’re dealing with this – not just dealing with it, but using it to your advantage! You’re an inspiration.
