The Art Witch Blog

I’m a mythical artist, photographer, designer, intuitive and all-around creative based in the Norwegian mountains and this is my blog.

This is where I share my creative expression and do my best to inspire, empower, share tips and information, and give the occasional kick in the butt so you can have a more fulfilling life. You’ll also find a lot of art, some behind the scenes and works in progress, as well as some strong opinions, and a swear word or two. If you enjoy the posts, please share them.

Have some fun, it’s Friday!

Have some fun, it’s Friday!

One of the many things I think is fun, and I'm doing it right now is radio. I have a couple of shows on All Things Pagan Radio, and I love doing them. Even though, it does take up a fair bit of time and energy. I'll also be doing some art tonight. If you have...

How to find your creative first aid

How to find your creative first aid

Because I keep myself very busy, and other people's demands on my time, plus my health condition, I sometimes need a quick creativity fix, some creative first aid. Especially when I lack both the time and the energy to work on a bigger project. What I do then is one...

Creativity is a great tool for self-development

Creativity is a great tool for self-development

I'm calling it self-development because self-improvement sounds a bit off to me. There's nothing wrong with who you are, so why should you work hard at improving yourself? Creativity can be a great tool for self-development. You can take great strides through it.  How...

Curious Crow

Curious Crow

This Hooded Crow is looking curiously at a coin. This kind of Crow is the one we see most often here, and despite some people's views of crows, I love them. They're both smart and beautiful. The drawing was made using pencil and coloured pencil on sketch paper. Size:...

Tawny Owl Peek-a-boo

Tawny Owl Peek-a-boo

This Tawny Owl looks like it's playing peek-a-boo behind a tree. It was made in coloured pencil on recycled cardboard, actually a pizza box, as part of my personal 2015 challenge of making art every day. Size: 25,5 x 25,5 cm

New Year Squirrel

New Year Squirrel

This squirrel was my first drawing of 2015. The idea came from seeing squirrels in my garden enjoying the food we lay out for them and the birds. It's in coloured pencil on re-used cardboard. Size: 29 x 28,5 cm

Still chillin

Still chillin

Lilith is on holiday break from school until the 5th, so I'm chillin' and hanging out with here at home. That's why I'm spending less time online than usual, and I'm not sending a newsletter until the 3rd of January. I've been working on a Tunisian crochet blanket,...
