We all need to get boring stuff done. For me, it’s things like bookkeeping and housework.

How to stop procrastinating and get boring stuff done

  1. Outsource it
  2. If you can’t outsource it; re-frame it
  3. If you can’t re-frame it yourself, hook up with Rachel Cornell at ProNagger

Rachel has helped me get several things done. I’ll be bragging more about her at a later date 🙂

What’s the #1 task you absolutely don’t want to do?

Anything housework-related… especially bathroom cleaning. Blech! I will check your link – thank you!

I know what it feels like. I don’t have a tub today, because I remember what it used to do to my back when I was cleaning it.

Good tips and to the point! I find that it helps to put those boring tasks or things I just don’t want to do on my schedule as an appointment with myself to get it done. Otherwise, you can forget it. Thanks for sharing!

Scheduling helps, if your aversion isn’t too bad. I used to change the date on a task more than once. But eventually I would get it done.

this are nice tips but sometimes it is better to get our work done ourselves 🙂 outsourcing might lead to extra headaches 😀

If it doesn’t get done, you need to find new ways to get it done. If that means bringing in help, then so be it.

Cooking is something I would LOVE to outsource…lol! These days I have a long list…

If you separate out the details of “housework” my list is pretty long too 🙂

Love your post – you know I’m a huge believer in delegating! As I know my habit can be to work for hours without a break – I now break my housework into 15 minute chunks – and do one chunk every 2 hours during my work day. This helps keep my mind fresh and my body moving during the day.
