Color Outside the Lines

Come play with me!

The title Color Outside the Lines means just what you think it means. This workshop is all about play, something most adults forget to do, even though it has huge benefits.

You’ll be playing with different techniques to stop the perfectionist telling you what to do. You can remove perfectionism by putting fun in its place.

A great way to do that is this first workshop called Color Outside the Lines, where we’ll be doing just that. We’ll use different techniques to pump up the fun and push the perfectionist out of your head.

All you have to do after going through the payment process is watch and play!

You can have even more fun if you jump in with both feet and go for it.

Just so you know, you will be stretching your imaginationcelebrating imperfection. We’re doing this so you can stop the perfectionist from telling you what’s good enough. To have fun and play.

The perfectionist won’t be able to tell you what to do after you’ve done this.

Why should you do this?

Coloring is a great form of meditation and relaxation if you let go of how it should be. It’s also playful and fun, and we all need to play.

Playing like this makes your comfort zone grow. It opens up a doorway to your imagination and frees you up because you’re not stuck in that tiny perfectionist box. You won’t limit your imagination to what’s considered possible.

Playing is important to adults. It engages your brain in a different way. Play brings joy and is essential for problem solving, creativity and relationships. Research has shown that if you’re more playful, you keep your brain healthy for longer, and since it’s also fun, you’ll be happier too.

When you’re not stuck in perfectionist mode it’s a lot easier to start projects and to finish them. You won’t have to fiddle away at it until you think it’s perfect or you throw it away, you just do it. You spend less time on it, so you have more time to diversify and just have fun with it. Getting rid of perfection also releases the anxiety around creating and the need for control.

This is also an opportunity for you to get some creativity into your day. To play, have some fun, dig in and get your fingers dirty, and maybe learn something along the way.

By the time you’re done with this class, you’ll have a sloppy piece of art that a
3-year-old could have done, and you’ll be proud of it.

What do you need to bring?

You’ll need a printout of the sheet I send you (or another colouring page), and something to add colour with. What you use won’t really matter. You can anything that will add colour. You don’t need some amazing talent to do this. Be who you are and be open to trying what I show you.
