I’m fortunate enough to live in a beautiful valley in Norway. The small mountain called Litlløkkjhaugen is in the mountain range that rises behind our house. There are lots of larger mountains there, but this one has a rest stop where you can enjoy the view of the lakes and forest below. I created this landscape painting in part from the memory of being there, and in part from a photo that I took while we were up there in the summer.
I decided that it was best to leave out the evidence of animals grazing there. The picture looked nicer without them 🙂 It’s common for sheep and cows to be let out into the wild in summer to graze, so there are a lot of both in the mountains, but the sheep are the most plentiful in this location.
