Yesterday I had a lovely spring celebration with a bonfire together with my three-year-old daughter.
I held a blot to Freyja, Jorð and Njorð, and I did, of course, have to change things up a bit, to suit her, but I don’t mind. We had a lot of fun, and the weather was amazingly beautiful.
I started with creating a circle by dragging a birch branch behind me while proclaiming it. Lilith ran a few laps around it afterwards.
I then asked the dwarves in the four directions to watch over us, before I sang a short welcoming song to Freyja. After that, we danced around the bonfire and sang a little.
I blessed the feast in her name and we ate. It was by no means an elaborate meal. Just some biscuits and cheese, some dried apricots and some candy. We weren’t hungry after having Tortillas earlier.
After feasting, I put the gifts on the bonfire. Since the fire wasn’t that big, it took a while. I gave three small pieces of Amber to Freyja, Assorted local vegetables to Jorð, and a beautiful haddock to Njorð.
Because Lilith was with me, I decided to save the sumbel for after she’d gone to bed. So I thanked Norðri, Suðri, Austri, and Vestri, and released the site with a thanks to the local vættr.
I took more pictures than this and video, but these will be available to friends and family only. This is because I don’t want to make her images publicly available.
