I’m not going to tell you to eat more fruit and veg, to drink green smoothies for breakfast, and gobble down lots of water. You already know that. What I am going to tell you to do for self-care, is to indulge once in a while. If you’re trying to lose weight, it’s actually good to take a break on occasion, to shock the system out of a plateau. Starving yourself of everything that’s good is never a good idea. It’s often what makes us drop the healthy lifestyle and go back to the old one.
Indulging doesn’t mean going on a major binge. It means having something nice to eat or drink once a week. It’s also good if you’re not trying to lose weight. Treating yourself to something nice works wonders for your mood, and can turn a bad day into a good one. So build having an occasional indulgence into your healthy lifestyle.
