Children can teach us a lot about creativity, these are just a few of them. All the pictures in between are my daughter’s artwork.
- Staying within the lines is overrated
- Use any colour you want
- Play around with what you can find
- Create whatever you want, any way you want
- So what if you make a mess
If you’re having problems with any of these, go get my book then join the creativity challenge, we start April 1.
I love this! As a prek teacher I fedinitely relate and as a creative right-brained girl I am in agreement. Such fun. Thank you for inspiring!
Thank you Kinberly, and thanks for stopping by
I love these, Linda, thanks!
New Moon and Equinox blessings to you.
Sue
Thanks Sue, and the same to you 🙂
Great post here, Linda! Thanks for the tips. Even though I’m an artist it is still nice to be reminded!
Thanks Jessica 🙂 We all need a reminder now and then
As a writer and a blogger about happiness, I loved these ideas. Being creative is a great way to increase happiness and children truly are the best teachers.
Thank you Julie 🙂 Yes, they are
Yes! These tips are great for my living. My favorite is pick whatever color and go for it. It’s not about what it’s supposed to look like, that is so true, thank you for this amazing metaphor!
Thanks Jennifer. I like that one too.
Beautiful! How much more easy can it get? Thank you! I often feel so compelled to have everything just perfect, that I forget that sometimes the messy way, the more colorful way, and the “wrong” way is actually the perfect way. Just the reminder I needed as I start out with this fresh, new week.
I’d love to see what you make Kristi 🙂
What great tips, Linda! And I LOVE your daughter’s artwork too. Beautiful! We can definitely learn a lot from kids, and I appreciate this reminder to just create the way I want, the way I feel, WHATEVER that looks like! 🙂
Thanks Jesse 🙂 I hope it reaches everyone who needs it
Love, love, love not following rules!!!
Creativity is so much fun. 😀 Especially when I get to be highly intuitive with it.
xo,
Melody
This is a great list Linda! Great reminders of how to reclaim the creativity that we had as children.
Thanks Felicia 🙂
Hi Linda, “So what if you make a mess.” WHOA! Now that one hit me hard. I so often try (as many of us do) to ‘have it all together’. Your post here reminds me that making a mess *IS* part of the creative process!!! Thank you so much for that. 🙂
Thanks Marcie 🙂 I’m glad it hit home
