My fifty-eighth symbol is the graphic fir-twig sign of Laima, from Latvia. Laima determined people’s destiny, and it was believed that she lived under the threshold and shouldn’t be disturbed by handing anything over it. The pattern in the background was created with a combination of wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry.
