Yesterday I signed a commission for a painting. I haven’t done that many commissions, and this is the biggest one I’ve done, so I’m pretty excited about it. I’m not one to take orders very well otherwise, as I prefer to run my own life and make my own choices, but this kind of work feels a lot different. I still have my artistic freedom when painting, even though someone else decided the image, size, and media.

The woman who ordered the painting is from the US, and she had some very interesting ideas about the painting. It will be another amulet art piece, featuring a couple of birds. That’s as much as I can say right now. The deadline for shipping is August 31 because I want to have lots of time to do a great job. If you keep up with me on social media, you’ll get to see parts of the progress (you’ll find links in the sidebar). I’ll be posting the finished painting in my gallery when it’s shipped.

Looking forward to see the printing. What type of colors do you use?

Thanks 🙂 Right now I’m using “Designer Galerie” and “Studio Acrylics”. Mainly because they’re the ones I can get locally. For watercolor I use a set from pebeo.

I think it’s a great way to combine someone’s ideas with your own artistic talent and skill, as well as of course your own ideas. There can be great synergy about a project like this. I’m looking forward to seeing the result! 🙂

Thanks 🙂 I’ve found it to be a good idea too. It makes for unexpected results, and helps me evolve as an artist.
