As you might know, I spent the long weekend with friends at a gathering in the mountains. These are some of the photos I took while I was there (click to open), and a bit about what these gatherings mean to me.

The location for the gathering this year was an outdoor activities centre at a place called Høvringen. The rooms were great and the food and service were amazing. Not to speak of the view. See for yourself:

I don’t know if you’re familiar with the fairytale where three goats cross a bridge on their way to the mountain farm and encounter the troll under the bridge. If you are, you’ll know why I just had to take these photos.

The yearly gathering is where I fill up on some of the experiences I don’t get as much of in daily life. Just imagine joining 90 of your best friends for a weekend of interesting discussions, spiritual practice, tons of hugs, and some partying.

There’s also the mead competition. This year, I didn’t bring any mead myself (for the first time) but I was one of the judges. There is now mead brewing in my bedroom for next time.

The weather was good to ok for the most part but during the ritual on Sunday, it was pouring down. Despite wearing rain gear, we were soaked. Every single one was wet through and through. Foruntunately, there was a drying room in each house.

Where do you meet most of your friends?

Do you see them often enough?

Woah, how late am I to this?? Really need to catch up on my blogs 🙂

I love the pictures, this gathering looks like something I’d very much enjoy as well! Glad you had a great time.

As for me, I meet most of my friends at medieval markets and HEMA events and at field archery shoots, also at parties/fundraiser dances with good music to dance to. Apart from that, it’s smaller get-togethers with just one or two others.

I have a lot I haven’t been keeping up with too 🙂 Connecting more is on my menu for this summer.
You would enjoy it. The people are amazing. Your events sound like fun too
