I ordered seeds for the garden last night. As I told you earlier, I have to replant the stone bed, add something to the herb bed and the one by the South facing wall and I’m creating a spiritual corner (witch’s garden) and attempting to revive the bed on the North side.
These are the seeds I ordered:
- Winter Aconites (Eranthis hyemalis)
- Breckland Thyme (Thymus vulgaris)
- Tunic Flower (Petrorhagia saxifraga)
- California Bluebell (Phacelia campanularia) ‘Blue Wonder’
- Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)
- Scarlet Sage (Salvia splendens) ‘Lighthouse Purple’
- Sweet Woodruff (Galium odoratum)
- Scarlet Beebalm (Monarda didyma)
I also got a free bag of Curly Kale (Brassica oleracea var. sabellica) ‘Dwarf Green Curled’ seeds
I’m also going to order some plants later, after the snow is gone and the digging’s done. I’m arranging a dinner for a couple of strong men to get some help with all the digging, since my body won’t let me do it alone.
These sound beautiful! I am trying to have a green thumb this spring -hasn’t always been my forte!

It isn’t my forte either. Plants here either grow like weeds or die straight away, no middle ground.

I’m in the process of planning a garden this year. Life has been a whirlwind lately, which makes any sort of planning difficult! I’m hoping it dries up around here a bit so I can get to the backyard and really survey things. We moved into this house the end of November, so I haven’t really gotten a good idea of how the light and shade is going to be in my backyard! Can’t wait!

I regularly write about using herbs to honor and worship St. Bridget of Ireland, and Bridget the Irish Goddess – and I highly recommend betony or St. Bride’s comb as a great witchy plant – loves rocks and sunshine!
Thanks for the tip, and it’s even hardy enough to grow here (I live in zone 4-5). I’m having some problem finding seeds for it though. Maybe next year.
