What do you want to change in 2016?
Time flies, doesn’t it? It goes even faster if you have kids. If you haven’t already, it’s time to do some thinking about what you want out of this year. What you want to keep from last year and what you want to let go of. If it feels right, do a small ritual to let go of last year, so you don’t stay stuck on things that happened. One simple example is to write a list of the bad things and burn it.
Since you’re listening to this, I’m guessing you’d like to be more spiritual, more fulfillled. That means you need to set some intentions for your spirituality too, not just business success intentions or to get the house painted.
Decide what you want to this year, how often you want to have time for spirituality, and not just for business and housework. It doesn’t have to be detailed, and it’s not set in stone. But having that intention helps you plan for the time you need to do it.
What would you love to do this year? Decide what it is, what you need to learn and if you need any support, and then go after it.
New year reading
For my FemBiz4Cast this week, I did a New Year’s spread, a reading for the coming year. It’s not the month for month view which some Tarot readers choose to do, it’s a numerological spread created by Avia Veneficia over at tarotteachings.com. I don’t normally use spreads, but I wanted to use one for this reading, and I wanted it to not have too many cards. So I looked around and found this one. Since I liked the idea, I decided to use it. Here’s the result of the reading:
You may want to find something creative, meaningful or fulfillling to do but you do not know what. Work can feel boring. Make sure not to overwhelm yourself. Balance and communication will be important. You may need to get in touch with your feminine side. You may caring too much for others and not enough for yourself. Take some time to yourself, look within for answers, and restore your energy levels and your self-confidence. Challenges like a creative block, indecisiveness or confusion may appear.

Wait and see your assets grow. You’re not looking for a quick payoff, but make sure that you’re focusing on the areas that will give you the biggest ROI. Evaluate how you can use your time better, what you can eliminate, simplify, and make more efficient. You may need to bring a little more structure and systems into your business. Be patient and review your progress regularly. Each time you do, make sure you appreciate the progress you have made so far. Review what’s working and what isn’t and where you can make adjustments. Also, make sure your expectations are reasonable. Fear of failure may be one of your challenges.
You will most likely try to do too much and you will need a break. Outsourcing may be what you need right now. You may be working too much and not spending enough time with your family or your partner. You may need to take control of your finances to make that possible. Watch your spending and how you manage your time. Look at where your priorities lie.
New beginnings, fresh energy, and inspiration are on the way. You may be making new investments or starting a new business venture. It’s possible that you get an influx of money from an unexpected source. You may see new opportunities come your way for a new source of income. Your ideas are ready to be turned into something tangible. Figure out what will work and make it a reality. Start to map out how you’ll achieve your goals, by creating targeted action plans and getting started. Opportunities that are becoming available to you that will help you reach your goals. You may need to throw something new into the mix. Consider something that is out-of-character or something you might not ordinarily do, or get around to doing.

Thyme or Aniseed for a cough?
They’re both expectorants, and as far as my own experience goes, they both work as well and are easy to get hold of. But I must say I prefer the taste of Aniseed. All you need is the Aniseed you can buy at the grocery store, about two teaspoons, and a cup of hot water. Let it steep for 5 minutes, to extract the goodness and drink it.
Today’s prompt is to get outside and enjoy winter, and the light returning. Take a toboggan and ride it down a hill, and if you don’t have one you can slide on your butt.
I’m simplifying my business in 2016, removing some things and making others more efficient. I’m also tweaking my services and adjusting my prices, so there will be some changes. The prices of all products, services and artwork were adjusted on the 4th, and other changes will be made throughout January. Some examples are:
- A new blog schedule
- A different format for the emails
- More videos
As part of the simplification, the podcast will be bi-weekly since I’m running a second podcast too, and the episodes will be videos that are published on YouTube as well as the blog and iTunes. I’m also changing the intro and outro of the podcast to be more me.
I’ll be a lot less scripted and edited, so you’ll get more of me, even if that includes bloopers. This also means that the show notes won’t be a word for word transcript of the episode. In short, I’ll be doing more of what I want to do and less of what I don’t want to do, which will allow me to help you better.
That’s it for me for today. Thanks for taking the time to check out The Witch in the Valley Podcast. The next episode will, among other things, be about seasonal celebrations. If you have any questions, just reach out to me at email@example.com. Remember to subscribe to the podcast.
