Up to 25 m (~82 ft) tall tree or bush. The bark is usually white. The leaves are pale-green, scattered, round to triangular in shape and serrated or saw-toothed.
The tea is diuretic, antibacterial, can be used against podagra, gout, to dissolve kidney stones and bladder stones, and as a means to lower the cholesterol.
The leaves are collected during summer, preferably while they're still small, and the sap is tapped off in spring.
