From time to time I publish a post like this one, and it’s because I really want to get to know YOU; who you are, what your passions are etc.
This time I want to talk about hobbies. I have a sh*tload of hobbies, to be honest:
- Painting and Drawing
- Reading (crime, thriller, horror, fantasy)
- Writing (blogging, articles and books)
- Photography
- Listening to music (mostly metal)
- Gardening (mostly herbs)
- Historical crafts (tablet weaving, nalbinding etc.)
- Viking reenactment
- Graphic design and Web design
…and so on
The reason I have so many is that I was unemployed for a total of 8 years between 1991 and 2002. So I had a lot of time on my hands. One of the most frustrating things about getting a full-time job was having to put these on the back burner. I’m glad I have more time to myself again now.

I forgot to add photography to my list… Getting to know people is my favorite part of UBC 🙂
My hobbies are looking after my family (though not really so much a hobby as a job), reading, blogging/vlogging, phtography (usually of my family lol), and not really sure what else these days. Some baking, some sewing, etc.
I understand what you mean 🙂 When my daughter was little, there wasn’t time for that many hobbies
Great blog topic. Just reading your list of hobbies makes me feel exhausted. I don’t have time for hobbies as a working mom – although some might say my blog and writing are hobbies, for me, they are just unpaid internships. I love to read, but I consider that part of my internship as well.
Wow, lots of hobbies, good for you! I have hobbies that I take and leave, and then start again 🙂 They would be: knitting, writing, walking, listening to music, reading.
Wow, you have a lot of hobbies!! I enjoy writing, reading romantic novels, watching movies with my son, and catching up on political news via MSNBC.
