One way to get a better result from your Tarot reading is to come prepared with a great question, reflecting what you want out of the reading.

Lots of people come with vague questions when they get a Tarot reading. This results in a vague answer, as the Tarot reader can only work with what she’s given. If you write down some details before getting a Tarot reading, you will get the best possible result from it. You may not be able to fill out all the answers for every situation but use them as far as possible.

What area of your life or business do you want to focus on?
Example: Maybe you’re working on a project, like a book.

What part of that do you want to focus on?
Example: Let’s say it’s a book, then you might want to focus on getting it published.

What outcome do you want for that part?
Example: Maybe you want to figure out how to get it published.

When do you want the outcome?
Example: Do you want it to happen now, or in a year?

What options do you have to choose from?
Example: What kind of publishing options are there?

What do you want from the Tarot reading?
Example: yes/no, the best choice, what the outcome will be etc.

Once you’ve got these steps filled out, create your question. Make it as focused and detailed as
possible. An example made up from the examples above could be: Which publishing option should I choose to get my
book published before Summer?

Good luck with your reading. If you want one from me, you can get a small, themed reading for just $27 (until August 12), or a full reading for $77 via my library site. I also have other options.

Linda, great questions, what a good resource. I think it will be so helpful to think about the focus beforehand. Could use questions like this for all kinds of things — coaching sessions, therapy, doctor visits.

    Thanks!

Thanks Sue 🙂 That’s true. I think a lot of the dissatisfied clients for readings, coaching and other things stem from not providing clear information. There are of course providers who aren’t that good, but if you bring clear info, it gives you the best possible chance of having a good result.

This is great, and very true. Although sometimes I have gotten very good results from vague questions, as long as my mind is open enough to all sorts of surprising answers.

I’ve never had a Tarot reading but this makes perfect sense to me, especially the first question about what area they want to focus on.

Yes, it’s the most important one. The others are for the details 🙂

Linda, I agree with the other commenters, and with you. Reflection, and preparation even better, makes for more fulfilling outcomes! This is great material for anyone planning to work with you, or even do their own readings. Thanks for sharing it here.

Thanks Shulamit 🙂 Yes, it does. I used to have it as a freebie, but decided it was better off here 🙂

Wise counsel, Linda, to get as specific as you can when posing a question–to another, to oneself, to the universe, to the divine… To this, I also like to add a willingness to surrender and to “not know”…and a willingness to be surprised at whatever answers (or questions) arise.

Thanks Dana 🙂 Yes, it’s also important to not know and be surprised.
