Clothes can increase or decrease your confidence. It’s a well-known fact. If you dress in a way that doesn’t feel good, you won’t feel as good as you could. The only person you have to dress to impress is you. Through media and the people around you, you get a lot of advice on how to dress for

  • your body shape
  • your job
  • your colours
  • your age

Dress the way that makes you feel great! No matter what shape or age you are! Tweet this!

It’s the only way to feel as good as you look. If you find it hard not to care what others think, start small. Change one thing at a time. Pretty soon you’ll grow into your own style.

If you want to dress like a goth even though you’re 45, who cares. It’s your choice!

Ignore the TV, the magazines, your mother, your husband, your friends (at least when it comes to fashion advice), and dress your way. Don’t walk around in clothes that make you feel bad. One way to find the clothes you like is to browse on Polyvore and create your own sets. I must warn you, though, it’s just as bad as Pinterest. You risk getting stuck for hours. The image at the top right is a set I created there. Let me know what your style is in a comment below (if you know it), maybe you have your own name for it. My style is a kind of goth-pagan-creative thing.

Hear, hear! I dress in a fairly neutral and boring way to save money, but I always choose clothes that are comfortable enough and at least partly made of natural fibres, cause that’s important to me. It works – and it’s cheap 🙂

Yes. I do that too. I’m updating my wardrobe as I go. I’m not going on a shopping spree.

I have no specific style. I wear what feels good and comfy regardless of the latest fads and trends.
