I’ve decided to make portraits of women with their spirit animal. The idea actually came from a business coach who had the idea in the shower.

The first ones will be made to use as examples on the website, but they are real women and their actual spirit animals. I’ve loved having several conversations with these women during the week, and I’m looking forward to a couple more next week.

Some of them didn’t know their spirit animals so I had to put my intuition to work. I talked to them for 15-30 minutes and asked them to talk a bit about what they do, what they like, and who they are. So I could get a feel for their personality. Then I set aside some quiet time to let my intuition do its thing and came up with some alternatives. After that, I looked up the alternatives and let my intuition pick the right one. Some of them were surprising but all the women have been happy with their animal and recognized the characteristics in themselves.

I meant to start the first portrait on Wednesday, then Thursday, then again today, but things have been getting in the way. Today, for example, the picnic we were going to have tomorrow got moved to today because of the weather and a few other things.I have done some initial planning on a notepad, which you can see below, and I hope to have the energy left to start the first one tonight. Otherwise, It will get done tomorrow when my husband and daughter go skiing.

Planning sketch for the first portrait

I’m really looking forward to seeing how these portraits turn out. I think I’ll be varying my mediums and techniques a bit instead of sticking to one way of doing them. It feels a lot better to go with what suits the look of the person and the animal.

My waiting list for these “example” portraits is full but if you want one of the first “non-example” ones for yourself, you can book a call with me so we can talk about it by booking a cup of tea on this page.

I don’t have an offer set up on the website for this yet, so if you want details you’ll have to talk to me. I haven’t decided if I will be offering spirit animal discovery outside facebooks groups yet either.

What do you think? Should I offer to find people’s spirit animals as a service?

Would it fit with the art and creativity?

This is so brilliant! I can’t wait to see the first results of this project. This seems right up your alley 🙂

Thanks Sibylle 🙂 They’re taking a lot longer than some of the other work I do because I want the resemblance to be there. They’ve been the easiest calls I’ve ever booked so far, so that feels like a sign 🙂
