I enjoyed this year’s Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap as much as the previous ones. The first time I took part in the swap was in 2012 and I’ve done it every year since.

In this swap, I get to connect with other artists around the world and see their art on beautiful postcards. At the bottom of this post, you’ll find the blog hop for the event.

Before I show you the postcards I sent and the ones I received, I’d like to thank Kat for organising this. She and her helpers have done a massive amount of work. There were hundreds of participants who all sent her 5 postcards, and she sent 5 of those, plus one of her own, to every single one of us.

My postcards

These are the cards I sent to Kat and her helpers in January. The first two years, I printed them myself on my inkjet printer. The following years, I’ve chosen to get mine from my RedBubble shop because the printer wasn’t doing as good a job and I get a lower price when buying my own prints.

I now have a new printer, but I only got that in March, so I couldn’t use it for this purpose.

Bumblebee

This drawing from the Arthropoda Tarot deck ended up going to Ronald Rudolf in the Netherlands (?). He posted about it here.

Maple Leaf in Autumn

This card went to Charlotte Collins Prado in Maryland, USA. You can check out her photo of it here.

Toad

This one ended up with Linda Yeatman in Virginia, USA

White Bird

I haven’t heard where this one ended up yet

Hungry Crow

This one ended up with Teresa Harrington Hazelbaker in Georgia, USA. Here’s her post with a photo of the card.

The side-swaps

Every year, some of the participants do side-swaps which are a lot of fun. This year, I swapped with these people, one of them has been side-swapping with me almost every year and we’ve also connected outside the event.

Sherry M. Harmes, Alaska, USA

Kate Lehman, Minnesota, USA

Chicago skyline reflected in a building

Terry Owenby, Oregon, USA

Slow Stitch project

I sent my side-swaps out this week and photos of the cards I receive will be added to this post as they arrive. I usually do more side-swaps than this but I didn’t have that many extra cards this year.

I plan to join the swap again next year too. If you’re a creative, why not join us? Just hop on over to Kat Eye Studio and sign up for the newsletter, and you’ll get info on the swap next year, in addition to creative ideas and beautiful artwork.

Share this post then check out some of the other artists.
