I wrote a blog post a while ago about the days when you feel down or something comes up and you can’t do what you planned. I’d like to talk a little bit more about that today because I see so many pushing through instead of taking the time they need.

We all have those days, and we all have things that have to get done. But it isn’t going to kill you to take time for you.

Although you may not think so right now, people won’t hate you or leave you for rescheduling and taking the day off. There are people who have taken weeks off because of illness, vacations, wanting to think, and they’re still successful. It’s not going to be the end of your life or your business if you take some time for yourself.

Taking time for you is not going to kill youIt isn’t good for you to push through

  • It isn’t good for your health
We’ve all heard about the health problems related to stress and working too hard. In a shorter perspective, it will come back to bite you by showing up as a cold, a stomach bug, or something else forcing you to stop.
  • It isn’t good for your relationships
Your loved ones won’t be happy if you’re not happy. If you’re cranky because you’re overworked, too tired to play with your kids or too stressed out to watch a movie with your partner, things will go sour.
  • It isn’t good for your business
When it comes to the business, pushing chips away at the good feelings you have about running it. If you keep on pushing when you shouldn’t be, you’ll get tired of it sooner or later and quit.

Are you able to resist the urge to push through because ‘it has to get done’?

I hope so for your sake. If not, we need to talk about how you can find the courage and motivation to do so. I’m not a life coach, but I think I can help you find solutions anyway.
