Today’s rune from the Elder Futhark is Dagr or Dagaz (sound value: D).
Dagr means day or dawning. This rune stands for transformation, awakening, epiphany, realization, breakthrough, fulfilment, completion, coming full circle, the end of one stage and a beginning of another.
Merkstave: To me, Dagr has no Merkstave interpretation.
In some descriptions of the futhark, Dagr comes after Odal. I’ve chosen to follow the majority of the Scandinavian descriptions of the futhark, and place Dagr before Odal.
