The eighty-eighth is the Knot of Eternity from Buddhism, and maybe especially Tibetan Buddhism. It’s said to symbolize the Buddha’s endless wisdom and compassion, an interaction of opposing forces, and interweaving of religion, time, and secular things. The texture in the background was created water and paint droplets.
