I spent the weekend at Trondheim Viking market. It’s a reenactment event, as well as a fair for the public. This is the largest Viking event in Central Norway, but not the only one. It goes on for four days, and there are a lot of merchants, entertainment, and several lectures for the visitors. We also make breakfast and have classes, competitions, and entertainment, plus a feast on Saturday for those who live on the grounds. Because of the weather, I didn’t take as many pictures as usual. But you can see the ones I took below, with comments.
The evening before I was going to the market, I was told Lilith could come with me. My husband has been resisting her going previous years, but this time he agreed she could come. I’m glad she did, and she had a total blast. She wants to go again next year, and to other events like this one. Me going to the market is the reason for the missing artwork on Friday and the lack of a letter on Saturday. I’m resting today because taking down the tent on my own and packing the car took its toll on my body. I’ll be back up to speed later this week.
I’m glad you had a great time. I love the pictures! And how cute Lilith is,- quite the little viking maiden <3 I much approve of the fact that she had seagulls following her around, now that's my girl hehe.
Thanks Sibylle 🙂 She is cute, I have to alter the blue and red dress a bit though (it’s quite tight).
Thank you for sharing the pictures and Lilith is adorable. I shared a lot of my interests with my 2 sons as they were growing up and I find it helps our relationship today even though they are now grown men. I have just started research for a painting featuring Skadi, a Norse or viking goddess. Very interesting character. Lee
Thanks 🙂 I can see that it strengthens the relationship. Skadi is an interesting lady. I’d love to see it when it’s done.
