This is a video of the complete process I used when creating the last bird in the Strange Birds series, the Hopping Dashed Hawk. All the 15 birds are now finished. This particular bird already has a new home, but there are still 9 other birds for you to adopt over in the webshop.

I’ve increased the speed of the video in the parts where I’m not talking, and you won’t have to wait to see paint dry. I didn’t record that part 🙂 Here’s the finished bird:

All of the birds, including this one and the others who have gone to good homes, are available as prints and designs on my redbubble account.

Would you do me a favor and share this?

Thanks Sibylle 🙂 I might do some more budgies later, as an in-between project

    Nice hawk!

I like how you managed to draw the feathers. That’s the part I always find hardest when I’m drawing my own pet birds.

Thank you 🙂 It’s very easy to get caught up in detail/perfection. Still working on that myself
