I’m not sure it’s been done before, but I’m going to try it. I’m going to try to write interpretations for using the Rök Runes in divination. How’s that for a challenge. If there are any divinatory meanings for the Rök Runes out there, I’d love to hear about it.
For the runes that still look the same as they do in the Elder Futhark, the meaning will be more or less the same. But for the others, it will take a fair bit of research to come up with a meaning. I’m asking you to be patient, as I can’t promise to do one of these a day. Not when I have over 20 books I have to finish reading before Jól. The library at work got fed up with my book orders. They called me and said that they will deliver the ones I’ve ordered so far, but no more. That’s unless I order books that are work related.
Thankfully I have a library card at the University Library, which is almost next door, and the public library, which isn’t that far away either. So it won’t stop me doing more research into runes, galðr, seiðr, the Volva, costumes etc. I’m more or less researching the whole Bronze and Iron Age, including the language. By the way, if you know of any good sources of information or people who know a lot (including crafts and magic), let me know.
