Spring is around the corner, maybe it’s already arrived where you are. Two days ago the Vernal Equinox was upon us. It’s time to Spring clean your business. It’s a great time to clean out the old and start new things, as the energy of everything is on the rise. Can you feel it? Maybe that’s why so many people do Spring cleaning, and not only in their homes.

Your business benefits from a bit of Spring cleaning as well. Get rid of habits, clients, products, services, systems and other things that no longer fit the vision you have for your business. Some can be re-purposed to fit you better, others have to go. Get out the rubber gloves, and dive in. Look at what new things you’d like to start, and go for it. Now is a great time for growth and change. Dust off those things you’ve always wanted to do, but haven’t had the guts to do before.

The energy of Spring helps you take the step. Clear out any clutter you have. Get rid of old files, old information. Clean up your website, the information you share with prospective clients. Maybe add some colour and fun to your page, re-write your introduction. Make it nice and shiny. Go through your marketing, and see what works and what doesn’t. Check out some new methods of getting clients. Step out of the box, and do something different. Look over your books and see if you’re spending your money where it matters. If you aren’t, change it. Take a hard look at your personal style as well. Does it fit your vision, where you want to go? If not, re-invent it. You don’t have to go and buy a whole new wardrobe. You can do a lot with what you already have. And a style change will get you noticed by dormant followers.

So where do you need to do some Spring cleaning?

    Hi Linda,
WOW — your message and writing style deliver a powerful kick-in-the-pants. Thanks for all this enthusiasm! Sounds like you run into this “our stuff is outdated” problem often.

I agree completely about tying up loose ends and clearing out the debris, not just in our business but also throughout our life. And not just in the springtime, when so much rebirth is happening, but regularly throughout the year, as often as necessary.

    Thanks for your vigorous reminder!

I’ve been spring cleaning all around. Recently making the move from a desktop to a laptop has had me looking at all the electronic stuff that has been collected and never referred back to. I’ve been spring cleaning my bookmarks, e-books, pdfs and documents that are no longer relevant.

The wonderful thing about cleaning and purging, is the space that it allows for bringing in the new!
